The Rega Planar 6 RS Edition combines the brand’s classic turntable design with precision engineering developed for its higher-tier models. Its ultra-lightweight, high-rigidity plinth provides a stable platform for the RB880 tonearm, while the upgraded drive system and carefully matched power supply are designed to improve speed accuracy and minimise unwanted vibration.

Precision engineering

The Tancast 8 foam-core plinth combines a high-pressure laminate structure with a brushed aluminium outer skin and matching edging. This lightweight, rigid construction helps reduce unwanted resonance while providing a stable foundation for the turntable’s precision components.

RB880 Precision Tonearm

Developed using advanced 3D CAD technology, the RB880 tonearm features a redesigned bearing assembly and carefully engineered aluminium tonearm tube. Its high-precision bearings and rigid construction are designed to minimise friction and unwanted resonance, allowing more information to be retrieved from vinyl records.

Advanced drive system

A hand-tuned 24 V synchronous motor drives the aluminium sub-platter through an upgraded CNC-machined twin-drive pulley and two Rega Reference EBLT drive belts. This arrangement is designed to improve rotational accuracy and speed stability.

Neo MK2 power supply

The custom-matched Neo MK2 power supply provides electronic speed selection and fine speed adjustment. Its advanced motor-control circuitry helps reduce vibration and improve rotational stability.

Double Brace Technology

Rega’s Double Brace Technology reinforces the plinth between the tonearm mounting point and the main bearing. By increasing rigidity in these critical areas, the design helps minimise unwanted energy transfer and resonance.

Choose your cartridge

The Planar 6 RS Edition is available with either the Nd9 moving-magnet cartridge or the Ania moving-coil cartridge, factory-fitted and aligned. The Ania package can also be supplied with Rega’s Fono MC phono stage.
