Description

A LOUDSPEAKER OF UNCOMMON ORIGIN

The Klipsch + Ojas kO-R2 is a limited-edition loudspeaker developed through a collaboration between Klipsch and acoustic designer Devon Turnbull of Ojas. Handcrafted in Hope, Arkansas, it combines a distinctive multisectoral horn with Baltic birch plywood cabinetry, bringing together high-efficiency horn technology and a striking, minimalist design.

LIMITED EDITION

Created as a collaboration between two distinct approaches to loudspeaker design, the kO-R2 draws on decades of acoustic experimentation and engineering. Limited to 600 pairs worldwide, it offers a distinctive interpretation of classic horn-loaded loudspeaker design with bespoke construction and carefully selected components.

LEGENDARY PEDIGREE

The kO-R2 uses a Klipsch K-706 compression driver for high frequencies and a K-33-E 15-inch woofer for low-frequency reproduction. Its two-way, horn-loaded architecture is designed to deliver high output, strong dynamics and detailed sound reproduction.

BUILT TO STUN

At the centre of the design is an exposed, 15-cell sandcast aluminium multisectoral horn. Drawing inspiration from classic Western Electric and Altec horn designs, its combination of square and trapezoidal horn mouths is intended to provide controlled sound distribution across the listening area.

The enclosure is constructed from 13-ply Grade A Baltic birch plywood with full butt-joint construction. Available in spiral Red Oak veneer or Hammertone finishes, the cabinet is paired with a matte-black powder-coated horn for a distinctive industrial aesthetic.

DELIGHTFUL DETAILS

Careful attention to the smaller details includes anodised aluminium binding posts, anti-vibration rubber feet and a laser-engraved metal identification plate. A five-step high-frequency gain attenuator allows the treble level to be adjusted to suit the room and listening preferences.
